NEW BOARDGAME “CLIMATE CHASE” LAUNCHES

ITNH collectives new board game “climate chase” releases this Friday, aimed at helping raise awareness around ever-growing climate change, the game seeks to educate players on this increasingly more important issue while providing an entertaining board game for people in their late teens to early twenties.
The board game will involve the players fleeing inland from the beach to escape a flood that will be chasing after them. To progress they will roll dice and answer questions to receive bonuses, all while the flood progresses up the board, trying to catch them. The scenario for the game is focuses around climate change, as are the questions. We aim to have players learn more about the various aspects of climate change, such as rising sea levels, how humans have caused climate change, what we are doing about the situation, how it effects animal life, and more.
Our market research indicated a split between people who wanted to play board games for different amounts of time. We decided to make our boardgame with this in mind, we have used a system where players can change how quickly the flood in the game progresses, allowing them to decide if they want a longer or shorter experience, a mix of questions aimed at people who know little about climate change and people who know a lot.
